“True Story”
🔹In this game, Players tell a 5 sentence true story about their day, except one of the sentences is a lie.
🔹The Judge closes their eyes and each player assigns themselves a number from 1 to 5. They signal their number to each other silently with their fingers so that the Judge does not know what number each person has chosen. Multiple Players may use the same number.
🔹The Judge then opens their eyes and the game starts. In round 1, each player takes a turn saying something that happened to them that day, such as “I saw a squirrel.” The sentences should be short, mundane and in the first person.
🔹Once everyone has said their sentence, move onto round 2. Each player repeats their first sentence and adds a second to continue retelling their experience. “I saw a squirrel. I almost hit it with my car.”
🔹This continues for 5 rounds but here’s the twist. The number you assigned yourself is the round where you must say the opposite of what happened. If you assigned yourself the number 2, then you’re story would have been, “I saw a squirrel. I hit it with my car while driving.”
🔹This lie only happens in your assigned round. In round 3 and so on, you would continue telling the truth as normal.
🔹The Judge has to figure out the assigned number of each person. They may only take one guess per person. If the Judge figures out your number, you get no points, otherwise you get a point.
